Mr. Thorpe is "traditionally" invested hugely in a self-image supported by the constructs of "professionalism". I don't think he could talk straight people talk if he wanted to. He's just been too long invested..his entire life basically...in the white coated protector god myth of medicine. However, something authentic in there jumped out ...as it must...and he's trying desperately to do "damage control" in addressing all of this.
The narrowness demanded of "specialization" literally puts blinders on the racing ones. And the rewards are their own justification...when that's the kind of reward one seeks, values, and validates.
It's the language he learned to be who he is, that is the only language of "authority" he relates to perhaps, that which created his "authority"...tho of course he is no author of it at all.
He bought it, then got a license to promote and spread and practice it.

My son's lady, whom he so wants children with, wouldn't listen at all. Especially to "the other woman" in his life. he had to get rid of me for her, and I don't know how to ever pray enough for the heart ache and hell he may...most likely will...go thru. I hope she keeps putting it off until they just drift apart. That;'s the best prayer I have at this point.
